Rito Martinez’s expertise in adult learning, design, leadership development, and executive coaching has informed his work for the past 30 years. As Vice President of Programs for the Surge Institute, Rito was responsible for replicating the Surge Fellowship in four cities, as well as the design of the Surge core curriculum. Rito has extensive experience in organizational transformation. He has an M.Ed. from National Louis University and was a high school principal and educator for 20 years. Rito is deeply committed to impacting African-American and Latino communities by supporting and developing the leaders who serve them. He’s the Founder and President of Love and Liberation: A healing justice, equity justice, and trauma-informed executive coaching and consulting firm.
Rito currently supports the following efforts:
● Leading racial justice and racial healing circles methodology and practitioner training with Truth, Racial Healing, and Transformation Chicago.
● Transformative coaching in partnership with Surge Institute, Moonshot EdVentures, NexusEquity Fellowship, and Community Equity Partners.
● Co-design and co-lead the Great Expectations Equity Fellowship with the Office of Equity Chicago Public Schools.
